Christmas and Cars

Merry Day After Christmas Everyone!

I hope you're enjoying the holiday season. I know I am. No classes. No need to wake up too early. It's fantastic! Although not stress free, I'm loving it! I'm finally doing the things I wish I could do while in school like finishing knitting a scarf for my sister, drawing, catching  up on television shows, and basically taking time to do absolutely nothing.

I'm working a bit, too. In case you were worried I was being too lazy.

There is something about the holidays and my car breaking. It's happened the past two years. Last year my POS 1992 Tercel was totaled in a parking lot. This year we're (I say we're, but I mean my parents, 'cause I'm poor haha) replacing my brakes, headlight, and windshield wipers. And I'm getting an oil change. Sheesh!

I was pulled over the other day because my headlight was out. That is the third time I've been pulled over for stupid not working headlights. That must be some sort of record. Pulled over three times in more or less a year for the same reason. I hope there's a monetary reward for securing this record.

Anyway, I'm in the process of writing the script-thing for my next video. I think it's super funny. I hope you do, too!

Happy Holidays! Thanks again for all your support whether you know me personally or not!

Much love,

Renée

It's FOREVER DAY!

Hey Guys!
Today I returned home after a wedding on the other side of the mountains. I am absolutely exhausted from waking up at 4 am in order to get home in time. However, I had tons and tons of fun, but need sleep.

Anyway, today is Forever Day and it's time to celebrate!!
Here's my cover of Alex Day's "Forever Yours"

LOVE!

Filming Forever Yours and P4A Videos

Today I am filming my next two videos: my Project for Awesome 2011 video and my cover of Alex Day's "Forever Yours." I just finished editing the cover and I think it turned out pretty good. I sing too loud for my camera at times and and I could smile a bit more. There's always mistakes with any video, but I'm still proud of it. I'm about to start filming for my Project for Awesome video. I've never done one of these before so I really don't know how to go about it.

I thought about changing my clothes to make it look like I didn't film two videos in the same day, but hell, I don't care THAT much. Just kidding, love you guys! You'll notice I'm not in a location you've seen before (my bedroom or my dorm room). My dad had to record some podcasts, so my shooting location (my bedroom) was relocated to my step-mom's office, which turns out to be much better for filming anyway. I've turned on every lamp and light for a total of eleven different sources of light as opposed to one in my bedroom. Also, since it's a remodeled garage, no one can hear me talk to myself! Yay! Here's the view from where I'm sitting.

In these videos, I'm sitting in front of a bed for our dogs, Max and Rufus (and sorta Sammy, the neighbor dog). They're dachshunds and they hate me. Maybe not hate. They like me when I am giving them the milk at the bottom of my cereal bowl and when I'm under a blanket on the couch.

On a side note, I am a master pick loser. It took me a good ten minutes to find my pick in my room before relocating to the office. And once I moved, I lost it twice during the filming process. I don't play with a pick very often, so I always forget where I put them. There's a brown one in my car somewhere...it fell out of my pocket when I grabbed my keys. And there's a yellow pick somewhere in my bedroom. I have one left...we'll see how long it takes.

Well, I'm off to go film my P4A video. Thanks to much for all the support watching my videos and reading this blog.

Much love,
Renée

A Good Day. Alex Day. Ahh puns :)

Good afternoon!
Today is a lazy day in an awesome way. I am hanging out with good friends, sitting on their couch and drinking their coffee. I don't have to pay for refreshments or food and I love it!
I'm excited for my next video. Nervous, though. I've slowly been teaching myself guitar over the past few years. I think I'm pretty good at it, but let's be honest here. Comparatively speaking, I'm really not that good. I'm gonna be covering Alex Day's song "Forever Yours." For those who don't know, Alex is a well known youtuber; I've been watching his videos for the past 3-4 years.
My video will be up on Sunday. While you wait, Go check out the music video for "Forever Yours!" There are zombies...it's worth it!

My Affair with Blogging. Sorry, Video Camera, I couldn’t resist.

So, I feel like I should blog. My heart belongs to YouTube; however, I have recently been considering an affair with the written word. My videos won’t mind, right? Well, I figure what they don’t know won’t hurt them.

I have tried this before, but it has all since been deleted. I’ll try not to delete this. I pinky promise, cross my heart, and double dog whatever to not take this blog down.

Anyway, here’s an introduction to me. Something you probably won’t find on my YouTube channel. At least not yet.

Hello lovely person,

Thank you for stopping by. Can I take your jacket? Would you like anything to drink? Welcome, make yourself at home. My name is Renée, but many close friends call me Nay. Call me whatever you like—I will even respond to Chuck.

After watching dozens of fantastic people (I would love to be friends with) make videos on YouTube for over the past 4 years, I finally mustered up enough courage to start posting videos on my channel. So far, with my 35 subscribers, it’s going pretty well. I cannot wait until I have more of a following.

Over the past 4-5 years of being an active subscriber on YouTube, I have discovered the community behind the video-ery. The friendships people make and the experiences they enjoy through collab channels and Vidcon and Summer in the City: I am jealous of it. I want it. NOW. Plus, the instant feedback and push to make better quality videos is irresistible. Unless, of course, the instant feedback contains words like b*tch…like the first comment on a video called “How ‘bout you buy me dinner first?” I don’t understand how a personal story about how a friend put a knife down my shirt could create such controversy, but oh well. There are always people who love to turn nothing into something, I suppose. It's funny.

I’m planning on being here for a while. Follow my blog and I promise to talk about things other than YouTube, but it probably will come up quite a bit.

Much love,

Your new best friend, Renée!
